Rowings

For groups:

Rowing to Suomenlinna

What would it have been like to row the cannon sloop that belonged to Viapori’s archipelago fleet? Large wooden oars have been carved for the cannon sloop Diana, so the vessel can be rowed just like its role models during the Age of Enlightenment. Rowing the cannon sloop in the coastal waters of Suomenlinna provide an exciting adventure for groups that want to pull together and get the vessel moving with sheer muscle power.

The duration of the tour starts from two hours. There should be at least about 16 rowers. Group size up to 30-40 people. Good basic fitness is required to participate in rowing. The starting point on the cruise can be Halkolaituri Pier at Kruununhaka or the Artillery Piet at Suomenlinna. Price: 1500 + VAT 10%.

A historical character can be booked to set the pace of the rowing during a rowing tour.

Please note: Diana is an open boat, so dressing according to weather conditions (sun, rain and wind) is important. Due to the wind, it may be cold at sea even on a warm day. It is good to have a warm and relaxed casual outfit, as well as flat shoes, with you. Bring also a bottle of water with you.
